Tennis APIs: providers, data and integration guide

A tennis API supplies structured fixtures, scores and player information for tournament pages, live match displays and sports applications. ATP, WTA, Grand Slam and lower-level events can have different coverage depths. This guide compares relevant providers from our existing shortlist and explains how to evaluate a tennis product without assuming that every match listed in a calendar has point-level live data.

Short answer

BettorServe advertises tennis publishing experiences, while Sportradar, Goalserve and Stats Perform describe tennis data products. The Odds API lists selected ATP and WTA markets, which is a different use case from a complete live scoreboard. Start with the tournaments and level of detail your audience needs, then confirm licensing, delivery and historical access for that exact scope.

This is a commercially oriented comparison site. We may earn a commission through eligible partner links, at no extra cost to you. BettorServe is our featured first listing. Commercial relationships and featured placements should be considered alongside the product details, and you should confirm current terms directly with a provider before purchasing.

Define the tennis calendar you actually need

List tournaments, tours, genders and seasons before comparing a feed. Wimbledon and the US Open are clear editorial priorities for many UK and US sites, but they do not describe the whole tennis calendar. Ask specifically about qualifying, doubles, Challenger-level events and other competitions relevant to your audience.

Our API directory links related sports without implying common feed coverage. Within tennis, separate a calendar entry from live scoring and point-by-point detail. A supplier's general tennis proposition may contain different collection levels across events, so request current examples from the tournaments you plan to build pages around.

Compare embedded tennis displays and raw feeds

BettorServe offers a publishing-oriented route that can suit an article-led site. The BettorServe review explains its widget approach. Test the available tennis layout with a long player name, a suspended match and a completed result, and confirm which information the display exposes before designing surrounding page content.

For a custom application, compare Sportradar, Goalserve and Stats Perform against the same tournament brief. Their public product descriptions establish tennis as a supported category, not identical depth or permissions. Ask for documentation and samples before estimating development effort or promising a particular match-centre feature.

Sets, games, points and match status

Tennis needs several levels of score. Your model should distinguish the overall match, set results, current games and available point state. Tiebreaks require explicit handling, and the format can vary by event. Avoid reconstructing a complete result from one display string unless the provider documents that string as authoritative.

Retirements, walkovers, rain interruptions and unfinished matches must remain distinct from ordinary completed wins. Store participant identifiers and the source's status definitions, including doubles relationships where supplied. A website should not invent missing set scores or treat an unavailable point field as a recorded zero.

Point-by-point coverage and player context

Point-level data can support a richer live experience, but it should be an explicit procurement requirement. Ask whether events arrive in order, how corrections work and whether a reconnect can recover missed updates. The availability of a final match score does not establish access to every point or detailed service statistic.

Player profiles and historical head-to-head features require their own checks. Verify seasons, competition scope and permitted retention. Keep source-defined player identities separate from display names, which may change or be abbreviated. If your editorial page calculates a comparison, explain the included matches rather than presenting a partial dataset as a complete career record.

Tennis odds are not a complete scoring product

The Odds API lists selected ATP and WTA tournament markets, including major-event keys. That is useful for bookmaker comparisons, but does not mean every tournament on the tennis calendar is available. Its supported-sports table also distinguishes scores/results, so assess that capability independently of prices.

See the The Odds API review for the market-led approach. Keep bookmaker identity, selection and retrieval time visible, and verify rules relevant to withdrawals or retirements. A current odds snapshot should not be described as a guaranteed offer, a player-performance forecast or a substitute for a detailed match feed.

Publishing, rights and related racket sports

Tennis schedules are vulnerable to court changes, weather and matches finishing at unpredictable times. Preserve the scheduled time separately from live status and communicate delays clearly. Cache licensed records, protect credentials and test busy tournament days when many matches overlap. Do not promise measured latency based only on provider marketing.

Confirm public display, attribution, retained archives and any asset rights in writing. For other racket sports, use the badminton API guide and table tennis API guide, which have different scoring and competition considerations. Our general provider scores help compare publishing fit; they are not independently tested tennis-specific performance ratings.

Frequently asked questions

Will one tennis API cover every ATP and WTA event?

Not necessarily. Coverage can vary by tour, tournament and data depth, including qualifying or doubles. Ask for an event-level coverage list and examples. A broad tennis label does not prove identical live information across the entire calendar.

Which providers advertise point-level tennis data?

Goalserve describes point-by-point tennis products, and commercial tennis documentation should be checked for the resources your event requires. Confirm current competition scope and correction handling directly. A listed match or final score alone does not establish point-level coverage.

Can I embed tennis information in an existing website?

BettorServe advertises tennis publishing experiences and a widget-led approach. Confirm the current display, tournament coverage and CMS requirements before subscribing. Embedding reduces some interface work but does not replace commercial rights checks or testing on your actual pages.

Does a tennis odds feed include every tournament?

No such assumption is safe. The Odds API lists specific supported sport keys, including selected ATP and WTA events. Markets may be seasonal. Check the required tournament, bookmaker and scores/results availability separately rather than treating tennis as one universal endpoint.

Why do retirement and walkover statuses matter?

They are not ordinary completed match scores and can affect how a result should be presented or a market interpreted. Use the source’s defined status fields, preserve any missing set data honestly and avoid generating a normal scoreline for an event that was not played.
